Hart to Heart: Stranded in So-Co

While all students appreciate time to relax, too many often end up sitting in the same friend’s basement as every weekend, wishing for something to do. Students want to be together, so why is there nowhere suitable to hang out?
TV Shows
Teens hang out at a diner or the mall. That 70’s Show depicts teens typically hanging out as they lounge around Eric’s basement or get a bite at the trendy ‘Hub’. This routine in Point
Place, Wisconsin is actually not that different from the social scene at this school.
On the other hand, Friends represents a nice, relaxing coffee-house arrangement. It is questionable, though, how the place never seems crowded and the couch always open. Seinfeld exposes the monotony of everyday life. ‘Monk’s Diner’ becomes routine and the classic episodes ‘Frogger’ and ‘Soup Nazi’ just go to show exactly how pathetic and boring those characters act.
Adults and media moguls are ignorant to the recreation needs of today’s youth. They think this‘hoodlum’ generation is ecstatic to just chill at the mall or hang out at local ‘frilly’ coffee shops. In reality, teens go to the mall specifically to purchase something and they don’t all love frappuccinos.
Pre-Teen Take Over
Ronnie’s is for middle school students. High schoolers only go to the movies to actually see a specific film and are forced to drive to an alternative theater to avoid the pre-teen posse.
This Hart recalls seeing Reno 911, and was nearly mauled returning to her purple Sky-Lark. Waiting for rides from moms and dads can get boring, but there is no excuse for the pushing and constant cursing while viewers wander in and out of the tween gauntlet.
Being a student can be tough, so please, beloved Lindbergh community, join together and go to the rollercade!
