Preparing for ‘Bling Fling’
Maddy Hammack
May 11, 2007
Tomorrow’s ‘Bling Fling’ has Stu-Co once again working overtime. Preparations cost nearly $3000, and four weeks of their labor. As of two weeks ago, Rachel Raineri (12), Sweetheart chair, reported she was "stressed," but is now confident about this weekend’s big dance.
"It’s going to be a really good dance, once it’s pulled together, because it’s a new theme and no other school has ever done anything like it," said Raineri.
One change is that not only will the King and Queen be elected tomorrow evening at the entrance to the dance, but Stu-Co has not been able to handle any of the student ballots.
"We can’t even touch the votes now. That’s why the teachers were the ones taking ballots at lunch. It was just a new idea from Dr. Helms, so we decided to try it," said Keegan Johns (10).
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and close at 8:45 pm, and guests will vote when they arrive. The dance ends at 11:00 p.m.
