cloaked in an air of anticipation, the Phantom of the Opera themed prom is inspired by a new location, the Fabulous Fox Theater. Renovated in 1982, costing a lofty $3 million, the concert venue holds up to 4,278 theatergoers.
With only around 500 students attending, space is wide open. Instead of dancing the night away in a convention center, prom-goers will literally be dancing on the same stage as Broadway stars.
The dinner menu consists of Italian based foods: toasted ravioli, chicken parmesan, baked manicotti, fettuccine alfredo, and other assorted dishes.
The buffet-style dinner is served for an hour and a half, before the coronation at 9 pm., giving enough time for food to settle before dancing occurs from about 9:30 to 11 pm.
"I’m super excited for prom at the Fabulous Fox Theater because, well, its the Fabulous Fox and I’m going with a fabulous girl," said Nick Fratta (12).
All of the teachers and staff members are invited to Prom from 8:30 pm till the end for coronation and dancing.
Unlike past proms, which began at 6 pm., Administration and Prom committee created a new time. Beginning now at 7 pm, prom lasts only four hours, instead of five. The time difference is due to the Fox’s requirement of only 4-hour reservations. Students will not be allowed in prom past 8:30 pm.
Parking costs $5 for cars and $10 for limos in the Fox parking lot and surrounding lots.
