teak, wings, and hamburgers all full of protein and wonderful for the human body. Meat can be the staple of a meal, but what about meals for those who choose not to eat meat? Help is on the way. The vegetarian craze has always been popular with high school and college age students, but now the nutritional movement has expanded even more. Since the vegetarian craze keeps growing, more restaurants are beginning to offer ‘veg friendly’ options making it increasingly easy to grab a quick meatless bite to eat that is not just standard French fries.

Located at South County Center, not only is this eatery inexpensive, but it offers a menu that sports variations of dishes from three different regions of the world. Mediterranean, Asian, and American cuisine are all offered at this establishment.  One great feature of this restaurant is that it offers tofu as a substitute to any meat product on the menu. Conveniently, Noodles and Company is a nationwide chain, so no matter when or where one’s veggie hunger strikes Noodles is a great place to satisfy it.

For a side of culture with one’s meat free meal look no further than House of India, located at 8501 Delmar Ave. House of India is set up as an Indian palace, and is a paradise for vegetarians, boasting a menu full of succulent vegetarian specialties. The House of India is also famous for the use of its clay oven wherein the chef bakes a variety of authentically Indian fresh breads. The traditional ways of preparation really add to the atmosphere making this restaurant the perfect place for vegetarians to get a dose of culture.
